Murano blown glass earrings with black filigree, with hand-engraved white gold leaf

These earrings were created using the ancient sgraffito technique on 24-karat pure gold leaf or white gold leaf.
Through a special preparation, the gold leaf is carefully applied to Murano glass.
Using a very fine metal tip, the gold leaf is then slowly and patiently engraved until the desired decoration is achieved.
Finally, the glass is placed in a high-temperature kiln, firmly bonding the gold to its surface.
The origins of this technique date back to the Roman era, more specifically to the Mosaic Period (3rd century AD).
All products are handmade with care and passion.
